Backyard Rhododendron

Backyard Rhododendron

A year ago, I painted this in plein air in my backyard.  It's the largest work I've done to date.  Fun!
This is also in a show at the Stokes Arts Council in Danbury, NC which will end Sept 3, 2018.

I painted a small version of this last year and always wanted to do a larger one.   Here's a 12x16 version finished recently for the Stokes Art Council show for the month of August.  This was painted from a British friend's shared photo.

Daffodil Hues

Daffodil hues
I painted these daffodils while in full bloom this past Spring.  I’ve tried painting them before but this time I saw greys and blues in them. Adding the cools to the warm yellows seemed to help.  These were daffodils and paper whites.

I painted this from a trip to a nearby farm.  Had fun painting the shadows.
